An unknown militant group has demanded release of few Al-Qaeda members for release of an Afghan diplomat who was kidnapped in Pakistan more than one and half years ago. <br/><br/>The diplomat Abdul Khaliq Farahi appeared in a video pleading with Afghan government to save his life and accept conditions for his release. <br/><br/>Kateeba Salahuddin Ayubi, a militant group unheard of, claimed responsibility for the kidnapping. <br/><br/>One masked man said demands for Farahi's release had been conveyed to the Afghan government but accused the authorities of not being serious. <br/><br/>The diplomat was kidnapped at gunpoint in September 2008 in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar. His driver was killed. <br/><br/>In August 2008, he was appointed as ambassador to Pakistan but was kidnapped before taking up his new duties. <br/><br/>Afghan government had been maintaining that they are in touch with Pakistani authorities for release of the diplomat but with no avail.<br/>
