In Afghanistan, Taliban militants have ambushed and killed a district chief and five of his bodyguards in the western Herat province. <br/><br/>Police spokeosman Abdul Rauf Ahmadi said the district chief of Chisht was on the way to office this morning when Taliban rebels ambushed his car, killing him and five of his police bodyguards on the spot. He also added that police have launched a cleanup operation to arrest those responsible for the incident and gun battle is still going on.<br/>
