Afghan Council condemns Pak decision

The Afghanistan National Council of Religious Scholars has strongly condemned the recent announcement made by the Pakistan Taliban on sending militants to fight in Afghanistan. In a statement released on Friday evening, the council said it believes that continuation of fighting is not in the interest of Islam and harms the region. The comments came as a senior Commander of Pakistan Taliban claimed that they have sent hundreds of their fighters to Afghanistan for fighting extra US troops which have begun arriving. The religious Council urged the government of Pakistan to prevent the militants from crossing into Afghanistan and save the region from further instability. The statement said that it is in the interest of none of the two countries and can destabilize the region and the world at the large if the situation goes out of hand. Afghanistan has long said the militant group active on its territory are being supported and financed from Pakistan, a view now supported by US administration. Pakistan military is accused of countering only those militants who are against their establishment while groups active in Afghanistan, have been left untouched. US has been pressing Pakistan to take on Afghan Taliban shura based in Quetta of Baluchistan and Haqqani network operating from Nothe Waziristan of Pak territory.<br/>
