A top NATO commander says, Afghan and international troops are likely to clear southern Afghanistan city of Kandhahar of Taliban insurgents by the end of November. He told reporters; more than ten thousand Afghan troops and five thousand Afghan police backed by 15 thousand coalition forces would target nearly one thousand militants in and around Kandahar in the next two to three months. He said, the operation would focus on districts surrounding Highway One, a key road way where the Taliban has operated with a degree of freedom.
