India were held to 1-1 draw by United Arab Emirates in their crucial league encounter of the Asia Football Confederation, AFC Cup Under -22 Qualifiers in Muscat yesterday. Down by an early goal by Jamaal Ibrahim of UAE, a rejuvenated Indian team came from behind not only to draw the game, but were almost on the verge of pipping a stronger, higher ranked UAE team to the post. Romeo Fernandes scored the equalizer for India in 88th minute of the match after a barrage of attacks at the UAE goalpost. India now remain in contention to make it to the final rounds of the AFC Under -22 Qualifiers . They take on Turkmenistan in their last league match tomorrow.
