The changing dynamics of Afghanistan- Pakistan situation dominated the discussions between the visiting chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Micheal Mullen and the Defence Minister, Mr. A.K. Antony in New Delhi this evening. Regional and global matters of mutual security concerns were also discussed between the two. Mr. Antony conveyed to Admiral Mullen that the US aid being given to Pakistan to fight terror should be utilise for the same purpose and not for perpetrating terror activities against India. Mr. Antony very strongly put forward his opinion that the amount of aid being given to Pakistan in the name of combating terror is much higher than the actual threat projected by Islamabad. Admiral Mullen in his turn gave the US assessment of the possible situation under discussion. Admiral Mullen re-conveyed US Secretary, Robert Gates invitation to Mr. Antony. The Defence Minister has accepted the invitation and will be visiting US in the last week of September. Earlier, Admiral Mueel met National Security Advisor, Mr. Shiv Shankar Menon and Chief of Army Staff, General V.K. Singh.
