<span style="color: #222222;">Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries Murugesh Nirani has said that the aerospace and defence sector will get a boost in the state. <br />''<br />''Speaking at the Annual India Suppliers Conference of Lockheed Martin company in Bengaluru today, the Minister informed that it is proposed to introduce a new Aerospace and Defence Policy in the state. Under the proposed policy, an enhanced incentive package will be introduced for MSMEs willing to invest in the Aerospace and Defence sector. The new policy is aimed at drawing original equipment manufacturers to the state.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, apart from Bengaluru, other cities like Tumkuru, Chamrajnagar and Chitradurga will be turned into important hubs for the units of Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDO. The Industries Minister informed that the process is on to set up a Defence and Aerospace Park in Devanahalli near Bengaluru on 1,200 acres of land and an announcement will be officially made on this at the end of December.<br />''<br />'' Mr Nirani informed that the Gross State Domestic Product of Karnataka is approximately 17 lakh crore rupees and is the biggest exporter among all the other states in the country. He added that 25 per cent of India's aircraft and spacecraft industries are based in Karnataka and 67 per cent of all aircraft and helicopters manufactured in India are from Karnataka. Karnataka is home to over 2,000 small and micro enterprises and 70 per cent of India's supplier base for the defence PSUs is situated in Karnataka</span><br />
