Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission Dr. Srikumar Banarjee on Monday laid foundation stone of second pair of Heavy water reactor at Rawatbhata in Rajasthan. With this reactor, 2 power plants of 1400 MW capacity would be established at Rajasthan Atomic Power Plant. Atomic energy commission will spent 12000 Cr Rs on these units and construction will be completed in 5 years. After completion of these units capacity of Rajasthan Atomic Power Plant will be increased by 2580 MW. Rajasthan would get 700 MW electricity from these units.
