In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Adviser to Lieutenant Governor Baseer Khan stressed on recalibration of efforts by all the stakeholders to achieve desirable outcomes regarding agricultural growth. He was speaking at a seminar in Jammu today on the theme of 'Credit and Development' by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' AIR Correspondent reports that a concept paper prepared by NABARD on the credit potential estimation of the UT was also unveiled by the Adviser on the occasion. The paper titled 'Collectivization of Agricultural Produce for Enhancing Farmer's Income' estimates the total credit potential to priority sectors in J&amp;K at Rs 35,583.25 crore. The document has been prepared by consolidating the potentials identified in the potential linked credit plans in priority sectors of every district of the UT.<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' The Adviser said that implementation is more significant than conceptualization and urged that visible progress on ground instead of mere figures on papers are more important for real development. He emphasised on resurrecting farmers' income by putting focus not only on infrastructure building but on social sectors also. He asked the officers to create ample awareness among farmers about the success of their counterparts elsewhere and directed for highlighting the success stories during village seminars or utilizing services of Panchayats.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' He further asked for fine-tuning the plans with local needs to maximize the benefits besides enhancing their applicability on ground. He asked for promoting initiatives like 'One District, One Product' for making substantial changes.<br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' The Chairman and Managing Director of NABARD said that the agriculture sector registered positive growth during the difficult phase of COVID pandemic and NABARD is alive to the issues of our rural populace and is working on their needs and formulating plans accordingly. He said that for J&amp;K, NABARD is enrolling a package of Rs 25,991 crore in next five years as accepted by the Government of India. The focus paper presented the potential linked credit estimates for various sub-sectors of the priority sector which includes Rs 20,697 crore for agriculture and Rs 10,817 crore for MSME segment for the year 2021-22.<br />
