BJP has climbed down to give in to the wish of senior leader L. K. Advani who wants to contest from Bhopal for the Lok Sabha polls. Party Chief Rajnath Singh told a press conference in Chennai today that there were proposals for Advani to contest from Gandhinagar as well as Bhopal. The Central Election Committee of the party has decided that he may contest from Gandhinagar. But he said, that it is upto Advani to decide where he wants to contest.
Earlier, a series of leaders including party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi met Advani in New Delhi to placate him. Those who met him also include party leader Sushma Swaraj. Advani had earlier expressed his desire to contest from Bhopal.
Rajnath Singh also sewed up a strong alliance in Tamilnadu and announced the tie up with DMK, PMK, MDMK and two local parties in the State.
