L K Advani has resigned from BJP Parliamentary Board, Election Committee and National Executive. Mr Advani submitted his resignation letter to BJP President Rajnath Singh.

Earlier in the day, the Party President had in an hour long meeting with Mr Advani at his residence.

Political observers feel that Mr Advani was not happy with the appointment of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the Chairman of Party campaign committee for 2014 general elections.
