President Pratibha Devisingh Patil has stressed that the administrative machinery should be geared up to serve the people with dedication. She was speaking at the Y B Chavan Centenary Celebrations at Gateway of India in Mumbai last evening. She emphasized that there is a need to reach the welfare measures of the state to the poor and needy to create an inclusive society.

Lauding the contribution of Yashwantrao Chavan to the growth of the nation, she said that the late Yashwantrao Chavan had emphasized equal development of industry and agriculture and this balanced path should be followed even today.
