Admission stalemate: UGC turns down DU proposal of 3-year honours course

University Grants Commission, UGC has turned down the Delhi University's proposal of a three-year honours course which was sent to the UGC to end the stalemate over the admission issue.

The stand-off between Delhi University and University Grants Commission continues for the fifth day today over the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme, FYUP.

University officials are still silent on the issue and there is no official confirmation about when the university is going to begin the admission process. Earlier, the UGC had issued a fresh ultimatum to the University asking it to begin the admission process under the 3-year course from yesterday.

However, instead of sending a compliance report to the UGC for rolling back FYUP, DU offered the alternative proposal to the commission, as a way to end the deadlock.
