Administration keeping close vigil over situation on 96-hour bandh in Darjeeling, Kurseong and Kalingpong

In West Bengal, the administration is keeping a close vigil over the situation arising out of the on going 96-hour bandh in Darjeeling, Kurseong and Kalingpong hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling district. The bandh has been called by the Gorkha Jana Mukti Morcha to press their demand for creation of Gorkhaland. All shops, markets, business establishments, government offices, tea gardens remained closed for the second day today. The supporters of the bandh came out in large number on streets to enforce the bandh. The bandh so far is peaceful.
