Mumbai's Aditya Patil and Suhaani Lohia have clinched bronze medals at the Asian School Chess Competition in China. Aditya won the bronze medal in the Under-7 rapid championship that concluded in Panjin yesterday. Eighth-seeded Aditya finished in third place in the competition which had a total of 26 players from 10 countries. Enroute to the bronze, seven-year old Aditya beat fellow Indian and the top seeded Kiaan Agarwal who has a FIDE rating of 1328. Kiaan won the bronze medal in the classical format. Eight-year old Suhaani Lohia won the bronze in the Under-9 girls blitz championships. A week back, Suhaani Lohia had won the Commonwealth Chess medal in New Delhi. Both these prodigious talents are products of the South Mumbai Chess Academy (SMCA).
