The GST Committee on Exports is meeting in New Delhi to deliberate on the issues faced by the industry under the new Indirect Tax regime. Revenue Secretary Dr Hasmukh Adhia headed panel is holding discussion with representatives from eight export promotion associations the difficulties faced by the exporters. <br/><br/>Commerce Secretary Rita Teaotia is also attending the meet. This is the first meeting ever since the constitution of the panel last Tuesday by the GST Council. The Council, chaired by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and comprising state counterparts, had in its last meeting on 9th of this month decided to set up a committee under Mr Adhia to look into the issues faced by the export sector.<br/> <br/>The panel is mandated to recommend to the GST Council a suitable strategy for helping the export sector in the post-GST set-up.
