President Pratibha Devisingh Patil has stressed the need for multi pronged strategy to ensure hassle free and comfortable stay of tourists in the country. She said that adequate infrastructure, proper rail, road and air connectivity and Hotels, which cater to various budgets are some of the important factors in expanding the tourism sector.

Addressing the National tourism awards function in New Delhi today, the President asserted to that new technology like e ticket and e booking can be used to promote the tourism.

Earlier, Mrs Patil gave away the awards in various areas of tourism and categories. Sikkim bagged best tourism promoter award among the northeastern states, while Madhya Pradesh received this award in rest of India category.
