Adelaide Test: Australia at 354 for 6 when stumps drawn

On the first day of the Adelaide Test, India struck late in the day as Australia finished 354 for 6 when the stumps were drawn. Hosts had a dodgy start as they lost opener Chris Rogers early on. However, other opener David Warner struck his 10th century as he stabled the Australian innings and went ahead to score 145. Skipper Michael Clarke contributed 60 runs before he was retire hurt. At the end of the days play, Steven Smith remains at crease with score of 72.For India Ishant Sharma was pick of the bowlers as he troubled the Aussies. He returned with figure 1 for 56. Debutant Karn Sharma kept things at bay, and he also picked an important wicket of Warner. The other pace pair of Shami-Aaron had no impact early on but in the last spell they took three wicket that gave the visitors a breather. Shami took 2 for 83 and Varun Aaron had 2 for 95. Earlier, hosts had won the toss and they choose to bat first. Both the teams on field paid their tributes and wore black armbands in a mark of respect for passed away batsman Phillip Hughes.
