The Asian Development Bank will provide a loan of over 24 million US dollars for modernisation of Maharashtra's horticultural industry. An official release said, an agreement was signed between the government and the multilateral lending agency in New Delhi today. The project loan is aimed at integrating small-scale farmers into agriculture value chains in the Nashik and Aurangabad-Amravati regions. The programme will build physical and institutional links along horticulture-integrated value chains. These include farmers, processors, agri-business entrepreneurs and service providers.
