ADB to give loan for development of roads in Bihar

The Asian Development Bank, ADB, will extend loan worth of 300 million US dollar for the development of roads in Bihar. According to a statement of ADB, the loan was approved for the Bihar State Highways II project with a view to build or upgrade about 356 kilometers of state highways. The project will upgrade targetted highways into two-lane roads, build new drainage systems and bridges and strengthen culverts and existing bridges. The agency will also extend technical assistance of one million US dollar to help building the capacity of the recently estabilished Bihar State Road Development Corporation to operate and maintain the improved roads and to design future roads projects.
