The Asian Development Bank has announced 200 million dollar loan to reconstruct roads in north-eastern region of the country. The multilateral funding agency said in a statement on Friday that the loan is being extended to upgrade over 400 km of roads in the north-eastern states of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura. The fund will be released in two trenches. The Ministry of Development of North-East region along with the six state governments will carry out the programme which is due for completion by 2016.
