Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Union Science and Technology Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh deposed before the judicial commission investigating the Adarsh scam today.
The two member judicial commission investigating the Adarsh society scam is currently hearing what three former Chief Ministers of Maharashtra have to say on how clearances to Adarsh society were given. Former CM Sushilkumar Shinde deposed before the commission on Monday while Mr.Deshmukh presented himself before the commission today.
Mr Deshmukh claimed that he received the application for Adarsh society in 2000. He pointed out to the Revenue Department that a proposal for the application be submitted to him.
However he claimed that he was unaware of the fact as to what action was taken by Revenue Department. He also said that Government has allotted the power of distribution of land to the revenue Minister and Ashok Chavan was the then Revenue Minster.
Besides he also stated that he was unaware that the land allotted to Adarsh socity is under the custody of Military. Commenting on the ‘immediate’ remark on the Adarsh file, Mr Deshmukh said that he usually signs with an ‘immediate’ remark.
The deposition remained incomplete today and will therefore be continued tomorrow.
