Maharashtra Information Commissioner Ramanand Tiwari, whose son owns a flat in the controversial Adarsh Housing Society in Mumbai has submitted his leave application to the Governor. The opposition has demanded his ouster. A Raj Bhavan spokesperson said that Tiwari had submitted leave application to the Governor, who is yet to take any decision on the matter. Shiv Sena leader Subhash Desai has said that the government should sack Tiwari, a former IAS officer, for his alleged involvement in the Adarsh scam. On January 3, another former bureaucrat Subhash Lalla, resigned as member of the State Human Rights Commission in the backdrop of his alleged link in the scam.
