One of the accused in Mumbai’s Adarsh Housing Society scam, Kanhaiyalal Gidwani and his son Kailash were today arrested by the CBI on charges of bribery. CBI’s lawyer, Special Public Prosecutor in the Adarsh case in Bombay High Court, Mandar Goswami was also arrested for allegedly accepting the bribe to dilute charges against the duo.
CBI stumbled upon this information during the questioning of an Income Tax lawyer J K Jagiasi, who was arrested recently in another case.
According to the CBI, Jagiasi entered into a criminal conspiracy with Special Public Prosecutor Mandar Goswami and also approached Gidwani to pay 1.25 crore rupees for diluting the case. The CBI has booked all of them under prevention of corruption act.
