Adarsh commission summons Vilasrao Deshmukh, Sushil Kumar Shinde

The two-member commission set up to inquire into alleged irregularities in Adarsh housing society on Wednesday summoned Union ministers Vilasrao Deshmukh and Sushil Kumar Shinde. Both of them have to record their statements next month. Deshmukh has been summoned on June 21 and 22 while Shinde has been asked to appear on June 25 and 26. Meanwhile, the commission reserved till Thursday its order on an application filed by former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan seeking exemption from appearance to give evidence.Chavan was to appear before the commission today. He filed an application on Tuesday seeking exemption.The special CBI court on Wednesday rejected applications filed by the six accused in the Adarsh Housing Society case seeking expeditious hearing of their bail pleas.The six arrested in connection with the Adarsh case had filed applications saying that the hearing on their bail pleas should be expedited. But the court refused to accept their argument and said that the their bail pleas would be heard on May 28.
