Adarsh case: CBI arrests IAS Officer, two retired Maj Generals

Ahead of hearing of the case in the Bombay High Court on Thursday, CBI has arrested, IAS officer Pradeep Vyas ,two former Major Generals of Army in connection with the Adarsh housing society scam in connection with multi-crore rupee Adarsh Housing Society Scam.
Retd. Major General A. R. Kumar was arrested at his residence in Hyderabad Wednesday morning and produced before a Court there for transit remand for being taken to Mumbai.
A CBI team also arrested retired Major General T K Kaul in Mumbai.
They will be produced before a designated court in Mumbai on Wednesday alongwith former Congress MLC Kanhiya Lal Gidwani who was arrested on Tuesday after he had secured a bail in another case.

A designated court in Mumbai on Wednesday remanded three former government employees, including retired Defence Estates Officer, R. C. Thakur and Brigadier (Retd) M. M. Wanchoo to the CBI custody till 31st of this month. They were arrested on Tuesday.

Thakur, Wanchoo and former Deputy Secretary in Maharashtra Urban Development Department P. V. Deshmukh were produced before special CBI Judge M . V. Kulkarni on Wednesday who remanded them to CBI custody.

Their arrests followed a censure by the Bombay High Court of CBI for not taking action against those who were allegedly involved in the scam.
CBI special prosecutor Ejaz Khan said the accused have been arrested under the provisions of IPC, Prevention of Corruption Act and Benami Transactions
Prohibition Act.
