Actor Mithun Chakraborty has resigned from the Rajya Sabha on health grounds. TMC leader Derek O'Brien confirmed the development. Mr Chakraborty was sent to the Upper House by the party in 2014 and his presence in the House has been minimal. His resignation is also being seen in the backdrop of questioning by the Enforcement Directorate in the Saradha chit fund scam last year.
