The National Commission For Protection of Child Rights has called for a proper mechanism at every level to deal with the issue of corporal punishment in the educational institutions. The chairperson of the Commission Prof Shantha Sinha told AIR that proper guidelines should be formulated and the definition of corporal punishment should involve not only physical abuse but also any act that cause emotional hurt to the child.<br/>Prof Sinha also asked the parents not to fear victimization and urged them to register their complaints so that such practices are not promoted in schools.<br/>
