<span style="color: #222222;">Consumer Affairs Ministry has said that it is actively considering the review of the minimum export price of 1,200 US dollars per tonne for basmati rice. In August this year, the government had decided not to allow the export of basmati rice below the 1,200 per tonne US dollar rate, to restrict the illegal export of non-basmati white rice. <br />”<br />”The Ministry said, it has received representations from the Rice Exporter Associations that the high Free On Board (FOB) value is adversely affecting the export of basmati rice from the country. It said, the government has taken a series of measures to check the domestic prices of rice and ensure adequate availability for domestic consumers. The Ministry said, the present arrangement will continue until an appropriate decision is taken by the Government.</span><br />
