Action will be taken on Ravindra Gaikwad's matter: Ashok Gajapathi Raju

Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju today said the MPs are not above the law and they have to follow the law of the land. Reacting to Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad's alleged thrashing of an Air India employee, Mr Gajapathi Raju said, action will be taken in the matter. He said it was an unfortunate incident and it should not have happened. Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said the incident occurred outside Parliament and she will take action only when there is a complaint in this regard. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters outside Parliament, JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav has demanded strict action against the MP. He said Mr. Gaikwad's act was disrespectful. On the other hand, Mr. Gaikwad refused to apologize. He said first the Air India employee should tender apology, then only he will see. Yesterday, Mr. Gaikwad, an MP from Maharashtra, was flying from Pune to Delhi in Air India's flight when the incident took place.
