Action to be taken against Mr. Raja, if proven guilty: Karunanidhi

Reacting to the summon issued to Mr.Raja, the DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M Karunanidhi said he considered this action as routine. Speaking to newsmen in Chennai today, he said action will be taken against Mr. Raja if he is proved guilty. Replying to a question on whether the party considers the raids against Raja, his associates and relatives as a humiliation, Mr.Karunanidhi said the self-respect movement grew by taking on humiliation. He said even the media could not bring about strain in the relations between the Congress and the DMK.Confirming the receipt of the summon, former Telecom Minister Mr.Raja said he is ready to cooperate with the agency in the investigation.Mr.Raja said that he had written to the CBI asking for a fresh date for them to meet him as he was pre-occupied with some work in Chennai. He said he was not evading the CBI and had not applied for anticipatory bail. Reacting to the summons issued to Mr.Raja, AIADMK General secretary Ms.Jayalalitha said the former Telecom Minister should be arrested.
