<span style="color: #222222;">Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has said that the length of one hundred 11 National Waterways declared under National Waterways Act, 2016 is over 20 thousand 186 kilometres in the country. <br />''<br />''In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Mr Sonowal said, presently, cargo movement for commercial purpose is recorded on 22 National Waterways covering a length of three thousand 383 kilometres approximately. He said, on the basis of outcome of techno-economic feasibility study and Detailed Project Report of these National Waterways, action plan has been formulated for 26 National Waterways which were found viable for cargo and passenger movement.</span><br />
