Acid attack women victims are to get treatment free of cost. Women and Child Development Minister Krishna Tirath said she has requested the Health Minstry to make provisions for this. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, she said that the Health Ministry is exploring how the can be implemented.

Tirath also said there will be a four digit number for women's helpline across the country to deal with domestic violence, trafficking and other issues. The proposal has been approved by the Planning Commission.
