<span style="color: #222222;">Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Kumar Mishra said that the country has over Four lakh 78 thousand 600 prisoners against the available capacity of over Four lakh three thousand, till last year. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, he said according to the National Crime Records Bureau, NCRB, Five thousand 150 foreigner prisoners are also lodged in various prisons across the country.<br />''<br />''Mr. Ajay Mishra also said, the Government has taken several initiatives to address overcrowding of prisons, including plea bargaining and Legal service clinics in Jails.</span><br />
