Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said that Accessible India Campaign has to be a public movement all over the country. <br/><br/>Launching Inclusiveness and Accessibility Index in New Delhi today, Mr Naidu said, public participation is very much needed for the success of any programme. He said, Accessible India to have Building Accessibility, Transportation System Accessibility and IT System Accessibility. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu said, Urban Development Ministry has come out with harmonized guidelines for barrier free built environment for differently abled and elderly persons. He said, skill is with everyone and it has to be nurtured. Mr Naidu said, persons with disabilities can move forward with skill development and technology. <br/><br/>The Minister said, given an opportunity, they will shine through hard work, loyalty and discipline. He also stressed on sensitivity towards persons with disabilities and more awareness for the Accessible India Campaign. He said, accessible audit framework has been released and smart city initiative has also important component for accessibility for all. <br/> <br/>The Inclusiveness and Accessibility Index is a service being extended to the industry to participate in the campaign by voluntarily evaluating their readiness for making the workplace accessible for persons with disabilities. <br/> <br/>Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar and Naina Lal Kidwai of FICCI were also present on the occasion.
