In Goa, all academic institutions will be closed from 16th to 31st of March as part of precautionary measures in view of the Novel Coronavirus outbreak. This was announced by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today in Panaji while speaking to media persons after a meeting. However, Std X and XII board exams will be held as per schedule. <br />'' <br />'' Dr Sawant said that all casinos, public swimming pools, theatres, boat cruises, gyms, spas, pubs and clubs have also been asked to shut down till 31st of March. The closure order will come into effect from Sunday midnight. <br />'' <br />'' The Chief Minister informed that thermal scanners will be installed at Railway stations, airport as well as MPT port. Each passenger entering and leaving the state will have to pass through scanners.  <br />'' <br />'' Dr Sawant clarified that malls, as well as restaurants, will continue to operate, but no permissions will be issued for public meetings. All foreign and out-of-state visits on behalf of Goa Government are suspended.<br />'' <br />'' The Chief Minister added that hotels will also be given guidelines and further directions will be given after reviewing the situation on the 31st of March.<br />''
