First Ever Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Dance festival concludes in Hyderabad on Sunday. Over 100 artists from about ten countries showcased their traditional and contemporary dance nuances, from the Asia-Pacific region during the festival. Countries including Maldives, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Philippines, Fiji, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Malaysia and India are taking part in the first edition of the Festival.<br/><br/>Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu inauguarated the Dance Festival at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad. Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Prasar Bharati Chairman Dr A Surya Prakash, ABU Secretary General Dr Javad Mottaghi, Telangana, Tourism Minister Chandulal and senior officials from Prasar Bharati and Doordarshan attended the ceremony.<br/><br/>Mr. Naidu said cultural diversity must be preserved and dance will bring together not only body and mind but also unite people of various parts of the Globe. He said India's tradition and philosophy of Vasudhika Kutumbakam is reflected in the conceptualization of the International Dance Festival by the ABU. He wished the AIDF would continue in future.<br/><br/>The Telangana state government welcomed the international delegates through traditional dance form of Telugu Speaking people.
