External affairs minister SM Krishna says US should absorb Indian students of California-based Tri Valley University, into other US universities. The university has been shut down on charges of massive visa fraud.Talking to reporters in New York, S M Krishna said the students came on valid visas and were cheated by dubious promises made by the education providers. He called on the US Government to bring to justice the bogus institutions. Krishna, who has previously called the radio- tagging of students by Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE as inhuman, said that he had expressed his resentment against the practice.Later today, Indian ambassador to the US Meera Shankar and Consul General at the Indian Consulate San Francisco Susmita Gongulee Thomas will meet Krishna and are expected to brief him on the matter before he leaves New York. According to available information, 18 students in California were radio-tagged by ICE as part of their investigation against Tri Valley University.
