More than 2 lakh residents have been moved to safer places and ships recalled to ports as Typhoon Muifa is approaching coastal areas in the eastern parts China. Shanghai's meteorological station said typhoon Muifa is likely to make a landfall in Zhejiang province today. Muifa, the ninth typhoon to hit China this year, was located about 630 km from Shanghai at 7 a.m. (local time). It is moving north-westward at a speed of 18 km per hour. Shanghai railway authorities have drawn an emergency response plan and stepped up inspection of high-speed railways. China's National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center has issued a red alert for high sea waves.
