About 85% voting in final phase of WB Assembly polls

About 85 per cent polling was recorded during the sixth and final phase of the Assembly election in West Bengal. The election was held for 14 Assembly Constituencies covering parts of West Midnapur, Bankura and Purulia districts.Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi said that the polling was peaceful and incident free. He said that one case of poll -boycott has been reported as the local people in their area have registered a protest for not constructing a bridge. He said that 22 preventive arrests had been made to ensure law and order during the election.
