About 70 Russian athletes arrived at an airport in Rio de Janeiro to take part in the Rio Olympic Games . The final lineup of the Russian team still remains undecided even though the Games will begin next week. Sixteen of 17 Russian wrestlers have been cleared to compete in the Rio Olympics by international governing body United World Wrestling. A maximum number of 270 Russian athletes will be able to compete in Rio.A total of 106 Russian athletes from 7 sports had been excluded from the national team for the Rio Olympic Games over the doping scandal. This includes the entire track and field team. Russia had initially planned to send 387 athletes to the Rio Games.The 31st Summer Olympic Games will be held from August 5 to 21. These are the first Olympic Games organized in South America.
