In Uttar Pradesh, about 46 percent voters exercised franchise till 3 PM in 14 constituencies having polling today. A Maximum of over 55 percent voting each has been reported from Sitapur and Jhansi constituencies followed by about 53 percent in Dhaurahara constituency.

AIR Correspondent reports that Raebareli constituency, where Congress President Sonia Gandhi is seeking re-election, recorded a minimum of around 38 percent polling.

Barabanki recorded about 50 percent polling, Mohanlalganj over 46 percent, Fatehpur and Hamirpur above 45 percent each while Mishrikh and Kanpur recorded over 44 percent each and Lucknow over 42 percent polling.

Our correspondent adds that reports have been received about malfunctioning of EVMs from several constituencies disrupting polling for a long time in those seats. In some constituencies including Mishrikh and Dhaurahara people from some villages boycotted the voting.
