About 40 to 45 per cent polling has been reported in the bye election to the Bastar Lok sabha seat in Chhattisgarh today. Chief electoral Officer of the state Mr. Sunil Kumar Kujur said that polling will be held in four polling station areas in the Dantewada district since the polling personnel deployed in these centres had gone missing in the morning. They were on their way to four different polling booths under the Katekalyan police station area of the district under police protection when the naxalites and the police had an encounter this morning leading to the killing of an SPO. The missing polling personnel have since returned. AIR correspondent reports, a total of eight candidates are trying their luck in this bye election the result of which will be declared on the 13th of this month.
