About 40 Punjab villages still affected by over flowing Satluz river

In Punjab, about 40 villages are still affected with over flowing of Satluz river in border areas of Ferozepur and Fazilka districts. In Fazilka district, 20 villages are cut off with the main line due to the collapse of a bridge. More than 200 houses had also collapsed in the district. No loss to life and cattle has been reported. Crops have been totally destroyed in the region. Punjab government has ordered an assessment of loss in the two districts. Army, BSF and Government machinery are helping the people to reach safer places.
