In Karnataka, filing of nominations for Assembly Elections ended on Wednesday evening. 20th of this month is the last date for withdrawal and polling is scheduled to take place on 5th of May. Meanwhile, election activities have gather momentum with candidates addressing corner meetings.
The Election Commission of India has announced alternative documents for the voters who do not posses Electronic Photo identity card. The Chief Electoral Officer, Anil Kumar Jha said 23 documents including the authenticated photo voter slip, PAN card, Service Identity cards issued to government employees, bank passbook, student ID cards, Aadhar card can be used for identity during voting.
