Abkhazia allows Moscow to deploy permanent military base

Russia and Georgia's break away republic of Abkhazia have signed a deal allowing Moscow to deploy a permanent military base in the region. <br/><br/>The deal will be valid for at least forty-nine years. Russia has seventeen hundred servicemen stationed in Abkhazia with its headquarters in a former Soviet military base, Gadauta, on the black sea coast.
