In Gujarat, the ABG shipyard has delivered the third pollution control vessel manufactured in Surat to Indian Coast Guard. The vessel has been named 'CGS Samudra Pavak 203'. The vessel made at the cost of Rs. 120 crore is a part of Rs. 360 crore order given to ABG shipyard in year 2005 for manufacturing of 3 pollution control vessels. ABG had purchased designs of these vessels from Rolls-Royce. AIR correspondent reports that 4500 tonne -capacity diesel electric system based vessel -can recover 500 tonne oil in one round at 21 knot speed. The twin engine advance helicopter can land and take off from this vessel, which can accommodate 100 crew members with 2 modern interceptor boats for rescue purpose.
