Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President Donald Trump have agreed to strengthen bilateral ties to increase international pressure on North Korea. <br/><br/>The two leaders spoke over phone this morning after Abe's Liberal Democratic Party and its coalition partner won Lower House elections. Trump described Abe as a strong leader and offered congratulations on his winning strong public support. <br/><br/>Abe replied that although the election was tough, he stressed the need to put as much pressure as possible on North Korea under the Japan-US alliance in order to make Pyongyang change its policy. <br/><br/>Mr. Trump is scheduled to visit Japan on the 5th of next month. It will be his first visit since taking office. <br/><br/>The two leaders agreed to discuss ways to address North Korea during Trump's visit to Japan.
