Abduction of BJD MLA leads uproar in Odisha Assembly

The kidnapping of a BJD MLA led to an uproar in Odisha Assembly. Later it was adjourned till noon. The uproar in the Assembly followed the Chief Minister, Mr. Navin Patnaik's statement on the abduction of the MLA early this morning. He informed the House that the Member of the House was abducted when he was returning home after rebels stopped his vehicle near Toyaput. Mr. Patnaik said, though no group has claimed responsibility for kidnapping, it is believed that Maoists are behind the act. Meanwhile, third round of talks between the representatives of Odisha Government and Maoists interlocutors is taking place today. The talks being held to secure safe release of two Italian nationals remained inconclusive yesterday.
