In Gujarat, a session court of Ahmedabad today reserved its order on the police plea seeking remand of arrested IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt. Court reserved its order till October 7. The court had last week rejected police demand for Bhatt’s remand and sent him to judicial custody. However, the police had filed a review plea on the matter yesterday. Our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that the court is also hearing Bhatt’s bail plea today. Suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt was arrested on last Friday on charges of fabricating evidence and wrongful confinement after a police constable K.D.Pant filed an FIR. Constable Pant had worked with Sanjiv Bhatt in the intelligence bureau during 2002 Gujarat riots. Bhatt who had implicated Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi in 2002 riots has claimed that his arrest is politically motivated.
